The feeling of putting in an honest days work. The goosebumps on your arms when someone says,“Great job.” The self confidence born from a community coming together simply to say, “We support you.” A little lunch goes a long way in the hearts of these fifth graders.
Join us Tuesday, January 30th, February 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th from 11am-1pm for this special event.
For almost ten years we’ve had the privilege of working side-by-side with the 5th graders of Willow Lane elementary, and this year we couldn’t be more excited to open our doors to them once again. Each year the entire 5th grade class gets a taste of what it’s like to work at our restaurant. To ensure that this real world working experience is as authentic as our homemade sauce, each student goes through the same hiring and training process as our employees do.
Students are required to write cover letters and resumés, interview with Donatelli’s management and train for their new job — all before they come in and work with our staff during the lunch rush.
Since day one, the goal of this program has been simple: help these children understand how important first impressions are, show them they already have real life skills they can draw on in the future and help them understand how much fun hard work can be. Come support these students as they work with our staff waiting tables, cooking pasta, flipping pizza and more. Come for the food, but the joy you bring to these kids will fill you up more.
